Maxillofacial Surgeon

Part of your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Often, surgery can be done the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation

  • Any correspondence from your referring dentist/doctor detailing the nature of the services to be provided.
  • Any x-rays which may be utilized in the treatment process (our office has the capability to take additional x-rays when necessary).
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.

ALL PATIENTS UNDER AGE OF 18 YEARS OF AGE MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN AT THE CONSULTATION VISIT.

A pre-operative consultation and physical examination is mandatory for all patients undergoing IV sedation or general anesthesia. You will also need an adult present in the office during surgery and able to transport you home following the procedure.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office or personally obtain your x-rays from your dentist/doctor and bring them with you to the initial consultation. If the x-ray is relatively current and shows all details necessary for the procedure to be performed, our office can utilize your referring doctor’s radiographs. Our office has the capability of performing diagnostic radiographs.
